Ruta circular La Cumbrecita

An insight into the hike:

The La Cumbrecita circular hike is one of the most popular and accessible routes in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park on La Palma. Over a distance of around 3 kilometers, you can expect a varied trail through pine forest, past striking rock formations and along impressive viewpoints. The starting point is the La Cumbrecita viewpoint at around 1,319 meters above sea level – one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island.

After just a few minutes, spectacular views into the interior of the Caldera de Taburiente begin to खुल. The route first leads through peaceful forest sections and then to the highlights of the hike: the Mirador de los Roques and the Mirador Lomo de las Chozas. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the over 2,000-meter-high peaks of the caldera as well as the deeply carved ravines within it.

The trail is technically easy and well maintained, making it ideal for those looking for a short but highly scenic hike, as well as for families and anyone who wants to enjoy nature without major physical effort. Despite its short length, the route offers an intense nature experience with constantly changing perspectives of one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Canary Islands.

Important to know: Parking spaces at La Cumbrecita are limited and usually need to be reserved online in advance (free of charge). In the late afternoon – typically from around 4:00 pm – access is often possible without a reservation, provided that parking spaces are still available.
