When the almond trees begin to bloom in Puntagorda, the north-west of La Palma is transformed into a sea of white and pink blossoms.
The Fiesta del Almendro en Flor symbolises the transition from winter to spring and is one of the island’s most traditional festivals.
Over several days, nature, hiking, wine culture, music, poetry and Canarian traditions come together. For many visitors, this festival is one of the most authentic ways to experience La Palma.

The official opening of the festival takes place with the “Juego de Vinos”, an entertaining team competition centred around wines from the Canary Islands.

Saturday is one of the most lively and popular days of the Fiesta del Almendro en Flor.
Sporting competitions, the famous Vinathlon, live music and prize ceremonies fill Puntagorda with festive spirit.

The International Festival of Versadores “Almendro en Flor” brings together poets and musicians from different regions.
